Since it has been some time since we have officially posted to this blog, we thought it was time to update it. As mentioned in the last blog post, we have spent a year discerning where God is leading Ad Sodalitatem, David has been "settling" back into the United States and we have been clarifying our relationship with the Archdiocese of Chicago. As is typical of God, he has not revealed any grand, overarching, detailed plan for this project just yet. We are still hopeful He might, though!
In the meantime, we are attempting to follow the Spirit, making longer range plans as this becomes clearer to both ourselves and to our Board. In the short term, our work remains the same: being a catalyst for Christian solidarity in the world. This means that we are focusing on continuing to build relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world. In doing that, both David and Katie made short pilgrimages in the past few months. David spent a week in Honduras, and Katie spent two weeks in Kenya. One major aspect of our work in each place was to begin establishing relationships with specific schools in order to build a school-to-school relationship with a school here in the Chicagoland area. Our hope is to bring the global Church in a more personal way to the children both here and there by facilitating the kind of sharing that is possible when we are growing in faith together. Since we would like to continue to use this website as well as we can, our goal is to post both pictures and reflections here, for easier access for everyone.
We continue to look forward with joy to watching the Spirit work in the world through the Church, both locally and globally, and ask that you continue to keep us and all of your brothers and sisters in Christ in prayer.
